Design Process & Features of the Mara Upcycled
While the high-waist original Mara skirt design features an open-ended front zipper and two flat back pockets, making it both functional and fashionable. Her Hi-Lo feature allows her to pair effortlessly with a variety of tops, jackets, sweaters, and tanks, ensuring that she can adapt to any outfit. This is how she stands out for her unique yet elegant touch, making her a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Mara Skirt is its upcycling detail offered through our range of customisation options to transform a plain denim piece into a unique fashion statement while exemplifying our commitment to sustainable fashion.
The process involves sourcing old denim, conceptualising our original Mara skirt design incorporating signature features like an open-ended front zipper and hi-lo style, and offering customisation options such as embroidery, metallic embellishments, graffiti-inspired art, lace, beads, patchwork and African prints. Once we have a focus on a customisation option, our skilled artisans reconstruct the denim into new skirts, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and unique detailing.
