As an extension of my “Blues and print,” the Liz Ogumbo signature “Boubou” dress is already a must have but what makes it even more necessary is the ability to buy all 10 of the same style and then wear them differently by switching your layers and accessories all year and season round During one of my trips to Ghana about 10 years ago, I got to experience Osu Market and horned into acquiring every bit of inspiration I could bring back to my design world in pursuit to further enrich my Style offering to you. Combining the style in which my mum and aunties wear there traditional bubu dresses while lounging at home or cooking in the kitchen with the inspiration drawn from my #OsuMarket experience, my #Boubou came to life. This signature boubou concept was birthed with the intention to give you, the wearer an easy-yet-sophisticated look and feel while allowing you the freedom to still accentuate your beautiful waistline through the idea of the belt whenever you feel like it. The @lizogumbo boubou is a 1-size-fits-all timeless staple that never goes out of style. Throw on your heels or sandals along with your hand painted & Intricately carved-out wooden chunky bangles and GO!
I am wearing the Boubou dress with a plain collar-shirt and a heavy beaded tassle neckpiece for some sass and play, however you can wear the Boubou dress in several ways;
Layered with a collar-shirt inside for a more formal look and maybe a tie.
Layered with a spaghetti strap inside in for a lighter look and feel.
Layered with a turtleneck or thermals inside in the winter or any ordinary cold day.
Or just as it comes
Kirsty Williams is wearing the Boubou skirt with a same-print-collar-shirt, however you can wear the boubou skirt in several ways;
With a collar-plain-shirt for contrast or vice versa depending on the plain/print boubou skirt for a formal look and feel.
With a same print shirt for your all-print-look, this is not for the faint hearted but you are welcome to try it. It actually looks like a dress but you gotta try this look too. Life is too short to wear only plain shirts.
With a different print shirt to #juxtapose. I normally like to play my bold prints including my African prints with any animal print preferably in black & white e.g. leopard/tiger/snake/zebra print. Experiment a bit and see what works best for you.
With a plain tee/spaghetti strap/tank/vest for you who is happy in #safemode.
This signature piece is available in a variety of colors/prints/fabrication; 100%cotton print/plain, cotton lycra print/plain and you can get yours today while stocks last.
